Restoring the shine to a building’s entrance, the first impression for residents and their visitors.

A natural stone company founded on the French Riviera, and its Geneva branch devoted entirely to marble restoration.
Les Traitements du Sud is a company specialising in floors and natural stone, founded on the French Riviera. Along that coastline, where marble graces villas, building lobbies, hotels and boutiques, the company has built its expertise working with demanding stone that is often old, sometimes rare and always precious to those who own it.
Of all natural stones, marble holds a special place in our craft. It is the stone that calls for the greatest finesse: it reacts to everyday acids, it reveals every scratch under raking light, and it rewards careful work with a lustre no other material can match. That is why marble is our priority.
Les Traitements du Sud Geneva is the company’s Geneva branch, devoted entirely to marble restoration. It works throughout the canton of Geneva and along the Vaud shore of Lake Geneva, from Terre Sainte to Nyon, with the same methods and the same exacting finish as on the French Riviera.

Our work covers the whole life of a marble surface. When the stone is scratched, worn into hollows or has uneven joints, we start with grinding to restore a flat surface. Then comes polishing through successive grits and, depending on the look you want, crystallisation, which brings a deep and lasting shine.
We also deal with damage to the stone: chips, cracks and joints to be redone through marble repair, and oil, wine or rust stains through stain removal. Finally, we protect the restored surface with a sealing treatment suited to its use, and we offer regular maintenance to keep it looking its best over time.
Geneva is a city of marble, often more than people realise. You find it in the lobbies of buildings along the nineteenth-century ring of boulevards and in Champel, on the staircases of Old Town houses, in the bathrooms and fireplaces of villas in Cologny, Vandœuvres or Collonge-Bellerive, in the boutiques of the Rue du Rhône and the offices of the Corraterie. Each place has its own stone, its own history and its own demands of daily use.
Our Geneva branch was designed to meet these needs with one craft in mind: marble. It serves private homeowners, property management agencies and PPEs (condominiums), hotels, private banks and offices, luxury boutiques and watchmakers, as well as the interior designers who entrust us with showcasing their projects.
Geneva’s climate is part of our thinking. In winter, de-icing salt and grit carried in on shoes mark entrance hall floors; the fairly hard water leaves traces on basins, shower trays and vanity tops. We take this into account when choosing finishes and protective treatments, and in the care advice we leave with you after the work.
Having marble restored should be a stress-free experience. Our organisation rests on a few clear principles, applied to every request, whatever its size.
From the first conversation to the end of the work, you deal with the same person. They know your stone, your access constraints, your schedule and your expectations. For a property management agency or a hotel, it also guarantees smooth coordination with the caretaker, housekeeping or the architect.
After examining the stone, from photos or during a visit, we give you a free quote in Swiss francs. It sets out the planned stages, the intended finish and how the work will be organised, so you know exactly what will be done.
We protect walls, skirting boards, joinery and furniture before we begin. Wet grinding and polishing techniques keep dust to a minimum, and we leave the premises spotless. In an occupied building or an open boutique, this is essential.
Well-restored marble stays beautiful for a long time when it is properly cared for. At the end of every job, we explain how to clean your stone, which products to favour and which habits to avoid. Our guides and advice take these recommendations further.

Every marble is different. A white Carrara, a grey Bardiglio, a green marble or a breccia differ in both hardness and sensitivity. Before any work, we examine the stone, its condition, its use and its original finish, then choose the most appropriate sequence: sometimes a simple polish is enough, sometimes full levelling is needed.
This approach is explained in detail on our method page, and you can see the results in our work, drawn from Les Traitements du Sud projects on the French Riviera.
Our values are those of a craft practised with care. They show in practical terms in how we prepare, carry out and complete every job.
Damaged marble almost never needs to be replaced. Beneath a dull, scratched or stained surface, the stone remains sound throughout: removing a very thin layer is enough to reveal fresh material. Restoration thus preserves the authenticity of an old floor, staircase or fireplace, avoids heavy building work and respects the character of the place.
This is especially valuable in Geneva, where many buildings and houses retain original marble that is part of their identity: a fine residential lobby, an Old Town staircase or a lakeside villa floor deserves to be brought back to life rather than covered over.
