Sales floorsMarble polishing
An even reflection, from satin to mirror polish.

Marble floors, thresholds and counters restored before opening, without a speck of dust near your showcases.
Rue du Rhône is one of the most prestigious shopping streets in Europe. Watchmaking houses, jewellers, leather-goods makers and couturiers lavish care on every square metre of their boutiques, right down to the floor beneath their clients’ feet. Marble plays a precise role there: it reflects the light from the display cases, sets off the pieces on show and expresses the house’s identity.
Les Traitements du Sud · Geneva restores and maintains the marble of luxury boutiques: sales-floor surfaces, entrance thresholds, stone counters and display stands, showcase plinths, staircases to private salons, fitting rooms and washrooms. We work for retail teams, boutique managers and the real-estate departments of the houses.
Luxury retail has its own rules: the boutique must be perfect at opening time, dust is out of the question near showcases and mechanical movements, and the work must remain invisible. So we organise our jobs before opening, after closing or on a closing day, using wet methods that release no particles.
Every project begins with a visit and a free quote in Swiss francs, prepared with the boutique manager or the house’s facility manager.

A boutique on Rue du Rhône opens its doors mid-morning. Before then, we have time to treat a sales floor, a threshold or a run of counters. For a larger job, we work in the evening after closing and on closing days, in coordination with the house’s security.
The entrance threshold takes the most wear: this is where grit and salt from Geneva winters scratch the polish. Regular polishing restores its reflection. Counters marked by bracelets, by presentation boxes set down again and again, and by glass-cleaning products regain their shine through stain removal and local re-polishing.
At opening time, everything is put away, dry and clean. Sales advisers greet their first clients on an immaculate floor.
Near a watch or a piece of jewellery, every particle matters. Our organisation is designed with that in mind.
Grinding and polishing are done with water, with immediate slurry recovery. No fine dust settles on the showcases or finds its way into the displays.
Plinths and the lower parts of showcases are wrapped before work begins. Pieces stay in the safe or in their locked cases, according to the house’s procedures.
Each area is rinsed, dried and checked before we leave. No haze, no machine marks, no residual product at the foot of the showcases.
Five stages, all timed around the boutique’s commercial calendar.
With the boutique manager, we identify the marbles, spot dulled, scratched or stained areas and note the constraints: showcases, security, hours.
A free quote in Swiss francs per area, with a calendar that avoids commercial peaks and collection launches.
Protection of showcases and furniture, access approved with security, finish test on an inconspicuous area.
Wet, dust-free work before opening, after closing or on a closing day.
Protective sealer, inspection with the manager and care instructions for the cleaning team.

Every house has its own visual language. Some play on the depth of a mirror-polished black marble that reflects the showcases; others prefer a softer, satin-finished pale marble that leaves the light to the pieces on display. We scrupulously respect the finish specified by the brand’s architect or the retail brief.
When a house rolls out the same concept in several countries, we can work from its finish references to achieve a result consistent with its other addresses.
Stone counters and tops follow the same logic; our marble countertop page explains the techniques used on these contact surfaces.
In a luxury boutique, standards never take a season off. But some periods matter more than others: the end-of-year festivities, the major watch fairs, the arrival of summer visitors on the quays. A marble maintenance contract lets you schedule visits just before these peaks, plus a spring catch-up after winter.
Between visits, we recommend neutral products to the cleaning team and a discreet entrance mat in winter. Glass cleaners, often ammonia-based or acidic, should be kept away from marble counters.

CountersScratches, rings and acid etching removed from contact surfaces.
ThresholdsA hardened surface for the busiest walkways.
Yes. We work before opening, after closing or on a closing day, so the boutique opens as usual. A sales floor is often treated in one or two sessions; a larger job is spread over several slots. At opening time, the equipment is put away and the floor is dry, clean and ready to use.
We work exclusively wet: the abrasives release no dust, and the slurry is extracted as we go. Plinths and lower showcases are wrapped before work starts, and pieces remain in the safe or in locked cases according to your procedures. Each area is rinsed and dried before we leave.
Yes, that is the very basis of our boutique work. We start from the house’s specifications or a reference sample, carry out a test on an inconspicuous area and only begin once it has been approved. The result is consistent with the house’s other addresses.
In the vast majority of cases, yes. Acid marks left by glass cleaners and fine scratches from bracelets or presentation boxes are treated by stain removal and local re-polishing. A chip on an edge is rebuilt with a colour-matched repair. The work is done on site, without dismantling the counter.
We recommend a spring visit to remove the traces of winter salt and grit, then a visit before the boutique’s peak periods: end-of-year festivities, the major watch fairs, the summer season. The exact frequency depends on footfall and is agreed with you when the contract is set up.
Yes. We never name a house in our communications, photograph only the surfaces being treated and follow your security procedures. We are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement, particularly when our work coincides with the preparation of a new collection.
