Marble polishing, repair, protection and maintenance for old-town houses, villas and estates in Terre Sainte.
Coppet is the first Vaud town you reach when leaving Geneva along the right bank, just after Versoix. It belongs to Terre Sainte, the small area of the Nyon district that includes Coppet, Commugny, Founex, Mies, Tannay and Chavannes-des-Bois, among others. Despite the cantonal border, daily life here looks very much towards Geneva, only minutes away by train or car.
The town is laid out along its arcaded Grand-Rue, parallel to the lake, and overlooks the shore from its château. This was the home of Jacques Necker, Louis XVI’s finance minister, and then of his daughter Germaine de Staël, who in the early nineteenth century made it a celebrated meeting place for writers and thinkers, the “Coppet group”. Its state rooms embody what one expects of a classical interior: noble floors, fireplaces, carefully chosen materials.
Around the town, the lakeside properties and the villas on the higher ground of Terre Sainte are among the most sought-after in the region. Les Traitements du Sud · Geneva works here on marble restoration and polishing, repair, protection and maintenance, with a free quote in Swiss francs.

The old town houses lining the Grand-Rue and the lanes running down to the lake are narrow and deep. Inside you find winding stone staircases, marble fireplaces in the principal rooms and sometimes hall flagstones relaid over successive renovations. Access is often through a single street door, with no chance of parking outside for long.
For these projects we bring compact equipment that we carry up to the upper floors by hand. We carefully protect joinery and stairwells, and favour a satin finish in keeping with the age of the building. A chipped step or a cracked mantel shelf is repaired with a tinted filler, almost invisibly. See also marble staircases.
Heading up towards Commugny, Founex or Tannay, the landscape opens onto wooded estates, contemporary villas and a few old manor houses. Interiors are generous: large marble entrance halls, floating staircases, en-suite bathrooms for every bedroom, kitchens with a stone island. These are often pale, very luminous marbles that call for a perfectly even finish.
On such large surfaces the slightest flaw shows: a duller patch in front of a French window, a ring under a vase, a scratch left by a piece of furniture being moved. We work continuously across the whole room to achieve an even result from wall to wall, then apply a protective treatment that makes routine cleaning easier for household staff.
Large pale slabs and heavy footfall. Fine grinding, polishing or crystallization for an even, lasting shine.
White marbles, basins and walk-in showers. Limescale removal, polishing and a water-repellent sealer for easy upkeep.
Hearths cleaned, chips repaired and a finish matched to the style of the house, classical or contemporary.
Between Coppet harbour and the Geneva border, properties running down to the water often have a stone-paved terrace or veranda that continues indoors as a marble floor. Humidity from the lake, constant trips to and from the garden and the afternoon sun put these surfaces to a stern test.
We treat the indoor floors with the appropriate polishing and recommend a water- and oil-repellent sealer on the most exposed areas. For houses used mainly in summer, a spring maintenance visit brings the marble back to pristine condition before the family arrives.

We identify the stone, test how it reacts and assess access, particularly in the old town.
A detailed, itemised costing with a proposed schedule.
Surroundings protected, dust-free wet working, polishing, crystallization or repair.
Water- and oil-repellent sealer and care instructions, which we can also pass on to your staff.
Coppet is served by the Route de Suisse, which runs along the lake from Versoix, and by the motorway, which has a Coppet exit. The town is also well connected to the regional rail network, making it, in practice, part of the Geneva conurbation. For us, Coppet fits into the same rounds as Versoix and Nyon.
Being this close also makes it easy for us to come back after the work. On freshly polished marble, we are happy to offer a check-up visit a few months later, particularly after the first winter: it is a chance to see how the protection is holding up in entrance areas, revive the shine locally if needed and fine-tune the care instructions to the way the house is really lived in. For a Terre Sainte property that entertains often, this light follow-up means you no longer have to wait for wear to show before acting.
On the Grand-Rue we agree a loading slot and a nearby parking space in advance. On Terre Sainte estates, we coordinate with you or your house manager on opening the gate and accessing the house.

Yes, the whole of Terre Sainte is covered. These municipalities lie on our route between Geneva, Coppet and Nyon, so we can easily offer a visit and, if you wish, regular maintenance of your marble surfaces.
By treating the room in one continuous operation, with the same sequence of abrasives over the entire surface. Where necessary we first correct lippage between slabs, then polish to the chosen level of shine. We check the result under raking light, where flaws show up best.
We provide clear written instructions and can explain them on site to whoever looks after the house: which products to use and avoid, everyday habits, what to do if something is spilt. It is the best way to preserve the result for a long time.
