Marble polishing, crystallization, repair and maintenance for Nyon’s old town, offices, shops and villas.
Nyon is the main town of La Côte in Vaud and the capital of the district that bears its name. Some twenty kilometres from Geneva, it is both a town in its own right, with its shopping centre and businesses, and closely tied to Geneva life by train and motorway.
Its past goes back a long way. The Romans founded the colony of Colonia Julia Equestris here, recalled today by its columns and the Roman museum. Nyon Castle, whose white towers overlook the lake, now houses the historical museum and a collection of Nyon porcelain. Below it, the Rive quarter, the quays and the Lake Geneva Museum carry the town down to the water.
That history can be read in its buildings. The old town is lined with townhouses and older apartment buildings; newer districts host condominium (PPE) residences and offices; the higher ground and surroundings are home to many villas. Les Traitements du Sud · Geneva works here on marble polishing, crystallization, repair and maintenance, with a free quote in Swiss francs.

In Nyon’s old town, between the castle and the shopping streets, older buildings often share a stone staircase and contain flats with a mix of floors: parquet, cement tiles and sometimes marble in entrances, bathrooms or around fireplaces. Successive renovations have occasionally placed several marbles from different periods side by side.
Our role is to bring these surfaces into harmony without erasing their character. We identify each stone, choose the finish that suits it and repair chips and cracks with a tinted filler. On shared staircases we work with the property manager’s agreement, always leaving a way through for residents.
Nyon is home to many businesses and organisations, as well as shops in its centre. Many of their entrances, reception halls and staircases are in marble or polished stone. These surfaces are the first thing visitors see: a dull or scratched floor is noticed straight away.
For these premises we adapt our hours, working in the evening, early in the morning or at weekends so that business carries on uninterrupted. Crystallization is often a good choice in heavy-traffic areas, as it hardens the surface of calcareous marbles and helps the shine last longer. A regular maintenance contract then keeps the hall at the same standard all year round.
By the lake, the Rive quarter and Nyon’s quays have flats and residences facing the water and the Alps. Large windows let in abundant light that reveals every scratch on a polished marble floor, and people often come home from a walk or the harbour with sand on their soles. In these homes, careful polishing followed by suitable protection gives the floor back an even surface, and a few simple habits, such as an entrance mat and cleaning with a neutral soap, keep that reflection for a long time.

In Nyon as elsewhere, the finish depends on use. A company reception or a contemporary residence often calls for a high gloss that reflects the light. An old-town house sometimes benefits from keeping a softer satin look. A bathroom can be given a honed finish, less slippery when stepping out of the shower.
Before treating the whole surface, we carry out a test on a small area so you can compare. To understand the differences between these finishes, see our grinding and sealing pages.
Nyon is linked to Geneva by the motorway and by the Route de Suisse, which crosses Terre Sainte. We come here on the same rounds as Coppet and the neighbouring municipalities, which lets us offer regular slots. In the old town, where streets are narrow and parking limited, we plan unloading in advance with you or the property manager.
For an address beyond Nyon, along La Côte, give us a call: we look at every request and will quickly let you know what we can do.
Timing matters too. In winter, the bise and bad weather bring water, salt and grit into Nyon’s entrance halls; it is the season when wear progresses fastest. Many property managers and businesses therefore choose to have their floors restored in spring, once that period is over, then book a maintenance visit in autumn to reinforce the protection before the first cold spell. For private owners, the summer months remain a good time, while the family is on holiday.

Yes. We identify each stone and adapt the treatment to it: abrasives, finish and protection. The aim is a harmonious whole that still respects the character of each marble. A test on a small area lets you approve the result before the full project.
Yes. We work in the evening, early in the morning or at weekends, as suits you. Wet working produces no dust and treated areas are soon usable again. We agree access, keys and alarm arrangements with your facilities team.
It depends on use and taste. A high gloss brings out the veining but can be more slippery when wet; a honed or satin finish is safer underfoot. We show you both on a sample area, then protect the stone against water and limescale.
Yes. For a company hall, a residence or a villa, we can set a maintenance rhythm suited to the footfall: buffing, touching up worn areas, renewing the protection. Visits are planned ahead and grouped with our rounds along La Côte.
